Zivanai Masango and Pachedu WILL MAKE YOU DANCE! Based in Boulder - Colorado, this Afropop/Afrojazz-fusion band plays a unique style of music that can at times take you through jazz, blues, rock and reggae; yet still firmly rooted in the grooves, rhythms and traditions of Zimbabwe and Southern Africa. While the sound of Zivanai Masango and Pachedu is still very fresh and new to most American audiences, it is very accessible to people of various backgrounds and is sure to charm and enchant any audience.
Leading the experience is Zimbabwean guitarist and vocalist, Zivanai Masango, who has toured continents and performed with such great artists as The String Cheese Incident, Thomas Mapfumo, Panjea – featuring Michael Kang, The Motet and many others. Laying the foundation for this experience is the airtight rhythm section that includes Paa Kow on drums (Hugh Masekela, George Darko, Panjea), Aaron Wheeler on bass and Atta Addo on percussion. Matt Wasowski on guitar (Jaka, Jyemo, Bizung Family), Danny Sears on keys and trumpet (Guster, Panjea, Motet, Ryan Adams) and H. Tafadzwa Masvikeni-Masango on vocals and percussion round out the experience.

This is “feel good” music and if you don’t dance, YOU WILL!!!
